Original American collection of spiritual songs by the famous Issac Watts, printed in 1785, Hartford. The work was edited by Joel Barlow.  Bound in worn full leather, rear cover detached, frnt loose, very worn with leather loss.  . Contains both Psalms and Hymns.  Interior shows heavy use, inscribed on front pastedown 1799 in Norwich CT; some pages are rounded, some edge loss, some tears, few detached, not collated but surely missing some leaves ( title for sure, many after page 286, Hymns section missing a bunch, etc). Rough copy of an important work.
