Before committing to purchase a piece please satisfy yourself of any questions or queries.  If you have any concerns regarding a piece then please contact me before bidding or buying.  All sales are for the actual item shown and are not sold on approval. I can provide additional images on request and will also answer questions as best I can. I sell antique and vintage timepieces and cannot guarantee quartz accuracy from any mechanical movement. All observations are made with the piece intact using a x10 glass unless otherwise stated. I am not a watchmaker and so unable to dismantle them with the requisite skills.  Many of the pieces I sell are well in excess of 100 years old and it would be unfair to traumatise them with the thought of my wielding a screwdriver at them.

If you are unsure of the suitability of a piece please ask me for advice; I would rather you did not buy if the item would ultimately not fulfil your expectations or requirements. Antique Watches are much like Vintage Cars, with care, love and attention they will provide great joy and satisfaction. Just as you wouldn’t expect a 1906 Ford to be able to cope with the rigours of today’s motorway traffic on a daily basis and I wouldn’t recommend a 100 year old watch for daily use.

I can accept foreign personal cheques subject to the following conditions;

1. The exchange rate is that which my bank buys currency at and not sells it
2.  An additional £14 equivalent is added to the sum to cover the banks negotiation fees,
3. This cheque will take a minimum 30 days to clear. I will not post goods until the cheque has cleared and been verified as genuine. I will not accept cheques or money orders drawn for over the purchase amount where a refund of the overpayment is requested. Any fraudulent action will be reported to eBay and the Police.

Postage and Packaging; as a guide these rates apply for Pocket and Wristwatches:

UK ; I only ship by registered mail and this is included FREE as standard in my listings as a courtesy to bidders who do not wish to collect in person.

Worldwide; I only ship by Registered Mail. 

• Royal Mail International Signed for (online tracking and cover to £500 where available) £15
• Specialist Courier (for items valued over £500 and with full insurance) from £90+ depending on value and destination.

Royal Mails insurance cover available varies from country to country. For instance China is only covered to a maximum of £250 insurance but the USA and Canada and Europe is covered to £500. See www.royalmail.co.uk for details.

 For items of value greater than £500 I will get quotes for specialist couriers such as UPS, FedEx and DHL through a 3rd party insurer.

Items can only be insured up to their purchase price value. If you decline insurance to the full value of the item purchased this is solely at your risk. I accept no responsibility for items lost or damaged in the mail that were not adequately insured at your request. Please do not haggle over shipping costs after winning, if you are unhappy then please do not bid. I send items securely and professionally boxed with bubble wrap and loose fill, I do not simply bung them in a jiffy bag.

Multiple pieces will be shipped together to minimise postage costs.
