Twilightpub is pleased to present The Silmarillion, by J. R.R. Tolkien.  This copy is the First American Edition, published by Houghton Mifflin in 1977.  Original unclipped DJ in removable Brodart cover. 

Overall, this is one of the nicest copies of this title I've seen.  From my personal collection.  Collector quality, considering the age, rarity and care of the book.  Book is square with tight, clean pages, no writing of any kind.  Pages are still springy, appears it has never been read.  Felt like map at rear was unfolded for first time for picture.  Deep red topstain.  1st Printing with errors (Father Giles of Ham, and break-type on page 29).   Only point to mention would be small, and I mean tiny soil spot on bottom pages (see picture, super minimal).  A very rare copy to find in this condition.  DJ protected by Brodart cover.  DJ is Very Good ++, considering many 1st DJ's are tattered.  Original price of $10.95 in tact.  On rear DJ, near ISBN on bottom right, there is a small tear with some wear.  Presents very well with Brodart, but can be seen when examined.  Bottom and top of spine DJ show some minimal wear and ever so light crease to front right corner.  Overall, I would rate this book as Near Fine.  The condition issues are minor, when the book itself looks like it was plucked from the bookstore shelf in 1977.  A collector will be well pleased to own this title in such condition.  Please see pictures as that is also the best representation for this description.
