Here is my absolutely gorgeous vintage themed British Jag special. So much prettier and infinitely less common than a Cobra! I will give a more detailed review below, but she is correctly registered as a 1967 Jaguar Sports and has a specially prepared Jag 4.2 litre engine with a five-speed getrag gearbox. The car is created with adjustable suspension, fire extinguisher and removeable roll bar. She is low, sounds lovely and goes really well. I admit she is a toy, but to say so isn't derogatory, she is also a really useable and enjoyable one. I have given the option to make me an offer - you can submit a bid and I will respond asap, or you can write to me via ebay mail. Lot 48 at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale 2012 was a very similar car, not fully rebuilt and with a less powerful 3.8 engine, I believe. It sold for $74800.

Now for some more detail. She has undergone a "nut and bolt" rebuild over ten years by a retired mechanic who specialises in older Jags and only done 500 miles since. As he said to me, I seem to enjoy working on them more than driving them! What luck to have people like that to buy cars from. Now the details - this is a Mk1 Kougar. The Mk1 remains the prettiest car of its genre in my opinion and I think this is the prettiest of the Mk1's, having had the wrap-around screen replaced by fly-screens. The original wraparound screen comes with the car, along with a tonneau cover that fits well but is faded. You see Kougars come up from time to time with a shiny respray and tired mechanicals, but I haven't ever seen one that has had such a comprehensive overhaul and mechanical upgrade. The parts list goes like this, note it is an intelligent and thoughtful use of the Jaguar parts bins to take into account the light weight and performance orientation of this car.

Engine - 4.2 series 2 XJ6 fitted with series 3 short skirt pistons. This is a big valve head. A 3.8 Jag flywheel was used - because of the light weight of the car and to allow revs to build more quickly. Triple Mk10 Jag 2" SU carbs and manifolds with electrically operated choke. A power check hasn't been done for the car, but a standard triple-carb 4.2 set-up is good for about 265BHP.

Gearbox and drivetrain - 5 speed getrag with fabricated adaptor plate. 3.6 liter Jag clutch and S-type rear end assembly.

Suspension - front, S-type with adjustable wishbones. Rear, S-type with 3.8 E-type coil springs.

Brakes - S-type discs all round with Coopercraft 4 pot calipers on the front and XJ6 calipers on the rear. Chassis is purpose built and substantial -see library pic. Wheels - Aston Martin wires.

Approximate dimensional information:- Length: 4039 mm / 159 in Width: 1676 mm / 66 in Height: 1016 mm / 40 in Wheelbase: 2540 mm / 100 in She weighs in at about 2040 lbs - without humans, according to the men in white coats. You are welcome to view the car by appointment, in Ringwood Hants United Kingdom. I am happy to have you send someone to inspect the car and confident they will be impressed.
