Here is the description....

Your Harley Davidson is leaking on the garage floor since a few years now, tired of that.... here is a simple solution.

I have had that problem a long time ago on my own bike (67 generator Shovel in the last picture) and had come up with this new type of spacer with an o-ring inside that seal the oil from coming out on «ALL» 4 speed Harley Davidson Big Twin transmission.

It is made to correct the problem on «ALL»  4 speed Harley Davidson Big Twins transmission, where the leak occur between spacer and the main drive gear,a common and not always working method to try to solve that leak,is to put silicone on the outside of the spline before installing the sprocket, some old wrencher still do it that way,but you should know that it is always better to seal the leak where it normaly start.

This special spacer correct the problem without any silicone, and it was tested and tried for severals years now by me and by a lot of peoples, and everyone is more than happy with the results including me,on my own 67 generator Shovel and on my 82 cone Shovel.

Here is some testimonies received from some of my previous customer's.....

i bought one of these from you months back-- i now have over 2500 miles on the bike (1979 FXE 80") since i installed this and theres not 1 leak. i carried a piece of cardboard with me to check and no leaks.. i use the bel-ray tranny oil and its red .. no red drops.. my engine oil is ultima and its blue... thanks for a product that ACTUALLY works :)

I got the spacer, installed it and took a nice long ride. Great part! Really cool not have trans oil flinging all over and no puddle. I have the cleanest Shovel around. Thanks and good ridin'

I`m about the only one that still rides at work. I`ve been noticeing that "my" spot at work, the oil spots are slowly disappearing with weathering and age. Since my addition of Ray`s spacer several years ago, no more leaks
Steve

Ray, you're the man. Your o-ring spacer worked like a charm. I'm leak free and ready to reassemble my inner primary. Gotta love someone with an engineering mind, and of course, the right tools.
Thanks again,

 Rays spacer

So while we're on the subject of main seals and such I'll tell you my experience with the tranny main seal/sprocket spacer Ray(Saddlebagrail) makes. My shovel bobber project has always leaked a little oil from the trans main seal area, which is very annoying because it was built up from a new STD case, new andrews main gear and shaft and related parts. After having the same experience with several other 4 speed that I have rebuilt I did come to the conclusion that oil is free to seep past the sprocket splines on the inside of the seal spacer. When Ray announced his custom spacer with O ring I new that this would be just the ticket. The spacer comes with an extra O ring and I managed to ruin a few because they are easily cut on the splines as you push the spacer in. But as with all things practice makes perfect. I found that dressing the sharp edges with an abrasive rubber wheel on my dremel lets me install the spacer first try without O ring damage. Not one drop of oil has leaked from this transmission in the 2 months since I made the repair and thats from a tranny that has always leaked. I have now bought 7 of these spacers from Ray and would not consider a rebuild or reseal with out one. Kudos to you Ray.

My shovel's been down a few weeks with a flat, and I've been working on other projects and have another bike on the lift. ALL of my previous shovels would have a puddle underneath, but thanks to Ray's spacer and a little work on the primary-to-engine seal there is absolutely NO DRIPS under my sled. +1 on Ray's spacer!

saddlebagrail, ray!!
as many others have before.........thanks for the cheap easy fix on the main seal spacer. works like a charm

Quick update...I installed one of these o-ringed spacers when I resealed my tranny about 5,000 miles ago. My Shovel has currently been parked in the same spot for a month, as I am awaiting some new lifters...and there is not one single drop of oil under it. Not one. The nifty spacers he's offering are TOP quality...and they WORK!! Go for it!

Ray~

I installed the spacer in my trans. No issues shaving the O-ring. Used Teflon tape to cover the M.S. Gear threads and synthetic O-Ring lube to avoid that. I ran the bike a few minutes and  no leaks. Not the  next day or two weeks now. I am so THRILLED with your creation! Also, you are generous with your tech tips and picks as read on Shovelhead Forum.

You are doing God’s work sir! Steven

I got it all back together. NO leaking. I go out everyday and stare at the garage floor...incredible. Ray's modified spacers are the Shiznit! hyrax222

My gearbox still "keeping tight" but this is probably not a big surprise to you. It was one of the best things I have done to my bike so far, just the pleasure to walk over to a bike without a big oil spot underneath is enjoying. Thunderroad.

I just installed my spacer and it fit like a glove, thanks. The instructions you included were very helpful. Every 4 speed owner should have one.

Just another satisfied customer here!!!!Sent my parts to Ray last winter, let the Master fix it:smile:Bushing,o-ring spacer and all.For the first time EVER,my dry primary is DRY!!!.Thanks,Ray for a job well done!!! Vern

This by far one of the easiest upgrades for our old bikes. Install was easy peasy. Thanks again Ray.  hogguy420

it takes some finesse, but Ray gave some great suggestions on smoothing over the teeth so it will lesson the chance of nicking the o-ring. I installed one in a tranny and followed his suggestions. Then used some electrical tape over the teeth. It was a bitch to push over....... but 1st time no leaks, and its filled with synthetic, not a drop since. Hard to believe a 4 speed could stay drip free. Its such a common sense idea that works perfect. Worth every dollar I spent. All 3 of my shovels have them.........................Rick(shovelhead forum)

Dear saddlebagrail,

I bought one of your transmission spacers and want to thank you for making such an excellent part. I installed it about three weeks ago and have put several hundred miles on the bike without any leaks at all. This old man is loving his shovel again!

Trans Mainshaft Leak...the fix is
There's a sprocket spacer that cures the leak down the main shaft. The leak comes from the machining running perpendicular to the threads. 3/8" splines. They hold the sprocket in place so it won't spin on the shaft.
The factory spacer does nothing to keep oil in the trans. The fix is a spacer with an O-ring on the inside of the spacer. It rides on the smooth area of the main shaft just behind where the threads end.
I've had one on my bike for about five years and haven't lost a drop of Belray.
I purchased mine from some guy up in Canada(saddlebagrail) who apparently has a lot of time on his hands and also has access to a machine shop. I should be so cursed. Its one of the nicest little upgrades I've ever done to my bike.
You'll dig it, too .tommylucky from Shovelhead.us forum

Hey yeah speaking of Saddlebagrail, I just got the bike down off the lift, been up there since Dec. Used one of his sprocket spacers with the o-ring. Got about 125 miles on the mainshaft leak repair.......nary a drop to be found, at least not off the front sprocket anyway. The spacer he sells is a God send. Thanks Ray!!!

I actually have all the 5 models that were made by Harley Davidson during the 4 speed transmission era's,so don't forget, when ordering «PLEASE SPECIFIED» diameter size where seal runs on spacer and total thickness, years of tranny and if it is a rear chain or belt drive, remember that there is 5 different models of spacers made for all 4 speed Big Twins transmission, (41-E77) (L77-79) (80-81) (82-85 rear chain) (82-86 rear belt) ,as you could see there might be some spacer used on different years even if you mention you need a 77 spacer it could be a Early or Late models so better be sure, than sorry,so make sure you send correct information before ordering,if you are outside Canada and USA please let me know as I will ship anywhere but you will need to add 5 dollars for shipping and handling fees, please take the time to check my feedbacks as a seller from the past, then you will see that I try very hard to get everyone satisfied, thanks again for your interest in this very innovative product.
