"Kitasoo"

I'm super excited to introduce my newest creation.... Kitasoo! He is a sweet Kermode bear made from a realistic synthetic fur. I've named him after the Kitasoo Spirit Bear Conservancy in the province I live in, British Columbia, Canada. This Conservancy covers an area with the highest population of Kermode bears. They are an exciting to see in the wild, and we have some Kermode bears that live very near us.

Kitasoo is a one of a kind artist Kermode bear cub completely designed and hand sewn (no machine sewing) by me, Melisa Nichols. He is very detailed and as such he is his own unique individual and can not be duplicated ~ a true one of a kind. Many, many hours of love and effort went into this creation!

Because of all this detailed work, I will never be able to create another Kermode bear cub just like Kitasoo. I do not work with patterns - just from photos and drawings, so there is no pattern he can be remade from.

Kitasoo is 12” (30 cm) long when measured from the flat of his foot to the top of his head. I've taken loads of photos of him and I hope you enjoy seeing them all!

Kitasoo is made from a very soft & fluffy synthetic fur.

Kitasoo's adorable face is full of detail and took me so many hours to create! His face has been thread sculpted, scissor sculpted and hand shaded. He has soulful black glass eyes with eyelids that can be posed open, closed, or anywhere in between.

Kitasoo has a realistic epoxy clay nose which I hand sculpted without the use of any molds. It is painted and sealed.

Kitasoo's ultrasuede paws were also extremely time consuming. I scissor sculpted, thread sculpted, and shaded them. I individually hand sculpted epoxy clay claws for him which I sealed.

Kitasoo is completely hand sewn and filled with polyfil, pellets (in his tummy), and an extra portion of cuddles. He is fully armatured (including his tail) for lots of fun poses!

Kitasoo will arrive with hang tags that include his birth date, a picture of him and a signed Certificate of Authenticity. He is a collectable Kermode bear cub made for display only - not suitable for children due to small parts. Any props I may use in the photos are not included in the auction unless otherwise stated.
