The interface is built on the processor ATMEGA 1284 and a professional double-sided plate.

The SD2IEC allows you to use an SD card as the storage medium (PRG files, D64, CRT, etc.) for the Commodore C64 / C128. SD2IEC is seen as a disk drive number selected in the range of 8 to 11 (the default is set as the station number 8, the change is done using a toggle switch).
The interface is equipped with a knob contrast LCD display. After recording to SD card (formatted as FAT16) file or D64 service PRG recorded files is convenient to carry on using the browser CBM File Browser . PRG same loading files from the memory card takes place on a similar basis as the floppy disk drive.
D64 disk images are viewed as a real disk in 1541.

Commodore will load data from the memory card very quickly, especially when using the TURBO loaders present in solutions such as JiffyDOS or Final3. The interface has buttons RESET and PREV / NEXT (to use a few images), and two LEDs (green and red - BUSY & ERROR).
The LCD display provides a number of relevant information, such as: the device number the name of the target file, image name, any error code, SD2IEC job details, eg. activation LOADER, and many others.
The interface has a slot DIN6 the same as it is in the drive Commodore 1541 to this jack using a cable from the floppy connect your Commodore 64 / 128.
This SD2IEC needs 5V power supply - power is not supplied with SD2IEC ( it can be any 5V DC power supply, even small switching power supply).
The interface is protected against reverse connection of power supply (ie a situation in which positive supply is connected to the ground). After powering interface displays on the LCD screen welcome and is immediately ready for use. SD2IEC is sold without SD card.
