The footwear contains a spirit of 90s Irish kid. The kid’s name is Keith. Keith is a delightful boy’s spirit – friendly and polite.

 

Let me first tell you how we met. I was living in Cork – second biggest city in - Ireland for some time a few years ago. There’s Sunday Market & Car Boot Sale in a small town Fermoy near Cork every Sunday. One Sunday morning I went there to see what people sell. These little sneakers caught my eye. I decided to buy them as a souvenir.  A nice elderly lady was selling them. After I bought them from her she said: ‘Oh, dear, you’ve made the right choice. You’ll like them a lot’ and then she winked at me. I got a weird vibe from that lady.

 

Strange things started happening when I brought the sneakers home. I could feel that there’s someone else in the room even though I was alone. I also heard footsteps upstairs, like someone running. Sometimes bathroom door was open, but I never leave it open. My TV was on when I came from work. I definitely turn it off before going anywhere. I also felt that someone was sitting on my bed. Honestly I was freaked out after a while. One day I saw a shadow coming out of the sneakers. They were on a chair in the living room. The shadow looked like child’s shape. First I thought, that’s just my imagination, but later witnessed the same shadow moving from the sneakers number of times.

 

I decided to go to the market again and see if the lady was there again. She was indeed. I told her about my experience. She just smiled and said that I don’t need to worry, little Keith is a nice boy. I was puzzled and asked her what she meant. She added ‘He likes chocolate and 90s music’. I wanted to know more, but the lady smiled and said that she has to get back to work. She didn’t say anything more.

 

I was very curious about this all sneaker situation. This was something new to me. One morning I left a small piece of chocolate on the kitchen table before went to work. The chocolate wasn’t there when I came home. I kept doing that every day.

 

I decided to turn on some 90s music. I like it too. I turned on Rednex ’ Cotton Eye Joe’ and started dancing. I could feel that someone was dancing with me. That was a weird, but nice feeling. That was the moment I knew for sure that Keith is real. We have a lot of fun with him since then. We listen to 90s music very often. He likes ‘Green Day’, Bon Jovi,  Britney Spears, No Doubt and other 90s bands and singers. We also listen to other popular music, but Keith’s favourite is 90s. Keith always dances with me.

 

I often see his shadow and hear him. Sometimes he scares me, but I know he doesn’t mean it. He’s very friendly. I feel support when I’m sad or come home after a hard working day. Sometimes he runs around the house and things fall on the floor, but I don’t mind.

 

You probably have a question – if Keith is so nice, why is she selling the sneakers? The answer is very simple. I have them for around 5 years along with the spirit. I know that Keith wants some changes, he’s getting bored. I’ve decided it’s time to give him away no matter how sad it is.

 

I really hope that the new owner will be a nice person. The most important thing is to give Keith chocolate and listen to 90s music with him. The sneakers of course need to be kept clean.
