Action on Poverty are auctioning this very special and one off experience to raise funds to help people living in poverty gain the resources they need.

One of our supporters won this flight for being one of our top fundraisers, but she has decided to auction it off in order to help us raise even more money.

Do you want to try something new? Well this is you chance to do something amazing. It's a beautiful experience.

The winner of this auction will win a private hot air balloon ride launching in the Cotswolds.

Here is some detailed information about the flight and logistics from the pilot, our CEO Alex Daniels:

The hot air balloon flight is for one person and normally about an hour long.  The length may be changed by the pilot due to weather, selection of the landing site etc. The flight would be in the early morning – just after sunrise - or late evening – before sunset.

The plan would be to fly in 2017 - I cannot guarantee to carry it forward to the following year - but please be aware that hot air balloon flying is very weather dependent. The season normally runs through until the end of September. This means there are not many opportunities for flying in Britain and you need to be able to ‘seize the moment’ and come and join us with not much notice. The pilot may cancel the flight at any time due to weather conditions, occasionally even during launch. I will fly if I think its safe to do so!

I am a qualified private hot air balloon pilot living in Honeybourne, near Evesham, not a commercial pilot, so you come with me on a recreational flight.  I work full time for the charity APT Action on Poverty and will not receive any income as a result of this flight. I have private insurance.  I have flown well over 100 flights, often flying my boys.  Compared to larger scale commercial operations the basket is small – apart from you and myself there will be one other person in the basket, so its a really personal experience.

You need to be reasonably fit and healthy; I will need to know your weight. I reserve the right to not fly someone if I believe safety may be compromised.

Action on Poverty works to support some of the poorest and most marginalised across sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. We want to see a world free from poverty where every one is empowered to reach their full potential. We provide training, support, and revolving loans to people so they can gain the skills and knowledge they need to lift themselves out of poverty.
