Extremely rare. In remarkably sound but good/fair firm condition, some foxing, rubbing and staining, but dry, crisp and with secure binding. Signed by purchaser, dated 1874, with contemporary (1890) annotations and corrections. All original illustrations present. Original letter from bookseller regarding delayed delivery due to rail problems included (see pictures). Annotations are neat and by a keen birdwatcher who visited Shetland in own right.
