YuGiOh Card Rarity Guide

So often people ask what the card rarity means, ie. what 'Super Rare' or 'Ultra Rare' means, so i thought i'd make a guide!

Common: does not have any holofoil on the card name or image.

Rare: These have the title names printed in silver foil, but are not holographic.

Super Rare: They have the picture printed in a holographic foil.

Ultra Rare: These have a holographic foil picture AND the title is printed in gold lettering.

Secret Rare: These have holographic silver lettering, and the picture is holograpic and polarized (it looks cross-hatched ).

Ultimate Rare: Like Ultra Rares, but the picture, borders, and stars at the top are embossed.

Parallel Rare: The whole of the card has a holographic polarized effect (like secret rare, but over the entire card)

Ghost Rare: Similar to secret rare, but the picture has a 'ghost' effect and the card has to be tilted to a certain angle to see the card picture.

Gold Rare: These have gold lettering and a holographic foil image, but also an unusual gold image border, gold text border, and gold card border.
