The coin referred here is an original 5
Reichsmark (RM) coin. It is a coin circulated in very good condition (VG
quality). All the characteristics of both faces, with loss of original
brightness and with some wear in the areas of greater relief, are appreciated
in detail. On the obverse of the coin you can see the face Paul von
Hindenburg, famous military during World War I and president of Germany between
1925 and his death in 1934. You can see the factory mark between his neck and
his date of birth. On the reverse side you can see the an imperial eagle. In
this version of 5RM is not visible the swastika. In his side appears engraved:
"GEMEINNUTZ GEHT VOR EIGENNUTZ". It has a weight of 13.88 g and a diameter of 29 mm. The
minting material is SILVER (0.900). All 5RM coins minted between 1934 and 1939
were made from this same material. After the year 1939, coinciding with the
beginning of the dramatic World War II (WWII), this noble material was not used
again for coin minting and was replaced by war metal of lower quality. |
