eBay

Aaah...finally decided to sell my coveted canon 'L' glass.  This canon 70-200 f2.8 L USM is not going to win any beauty contests, but it produces the most beautiful images and can still keep up with the best of them....  As you can see in the pictures, there are multiple scratches and nicks to the body as well as a ding/dent to the front housing edge at the filter threads.  It prevents you from putting a filter on fully.  But I just used the hood when concerned about the front element for protection.  all these nicks and scuffs come with age---but they are purely cosmetic.

The Autofocus functions perfectly.  It is fast, and consistently accurate.  You wont be disappointed here.  The front lens element has multiple micro scratches as evidenced as best as I could photograph them.  Fortunately, I've never had an issue as I cannot see any evidence of image degradation from this.  My pictures are as beautiful with this lens as any of my other L glass.  The rear element looks fine, without any blemishes.  the mount is fine as ive never had any communication issues when mounted.  the lens date code us 'UJ**'. Please, check the pictures below.  I've used this lens on both my 7D and now the 5D ii.   F2.8 is unreal.  This was my first L glass purchase.

My ONLY reason for selling is to finance another L glass purchase.  If I could keep it I would.   Unfortunately, money doesn't grow on trees....so off to the auction block this goes.  Auction includes the lens, both end caps, the tripod ring, and the third party lens hood.   If you can get beyond 'cosmetics', you'll be greatly pleased as this exact lens with a more recent date code goes for $1,000-$1,200!

Bid with confidence.  I'm nearing my '500' mark here on eBay...100% positive.

Regarding a couple of the pics below:   The fence post was shot at f8 and 200mm.  Look at that bokeh.  Also notice how sharp the fence post is.   The other pic into the sun shows typical resultant lens flare....the thing to notice here is that the image IS NOT affected by the front element micro scratches...I took multiple pics and now matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get any stray, aberrant light rays to ruin the resultant image. The close up of the cedar wax wing is a 100% crop and was taken on a whim just.a couple days ago. I was 35 yards away. i was at 200mm,  f8; 1/400sec.  The conditions on this day were horrible...late in the day, cold, dreary, and no sun....  I could still make out the birds tongue! The banana was shot at f2.8  @70mm, 100mm, 135mm & 200mm. This should give u an idea of how sharp it is wide open!. Great action pics with this FAST 2.8 lens aperture.

Thanks for looking....

To the auction winner:  the item will be securely and heavily bubble wrapped and shipped with insurance!
