A 1945 Goldsmith "Elmer Riddle" model UN baseball glove. This is a military issue and is stamped U.S. 6-1945 on the wrist strap. The glove overall is still supple and free of holes or tears. The golden brown leather color is pretty even front and back. The rolled leather piping is intact. The inner lining is especially supple and smooth for a nice on hand feel. The glove measures 9"H X 11 1/2"W along the pocket. One interesting feature is the shortened first and second finger stall to extend the heigth of the pocket. This was something Goldsmith started in the mid 1930's with some of their models. The factory markings on the front are all very clear with very little wear. The unique and intricate Goldsmith trademark webbing is nicely intact.
