eBay
This listing is for the regrettable sale of my E24 M635CSi Highline. BMW made just 524 right hand drive M635CSi's, only 102 of these are right hand drive Highline models - the rarest and most most desired variant, this is in the best colour of Diamond black with factory Shadowline (no chrome). This is one of the very last cars with the electric seat controls on the seat sides not the centre consul (cars only post 09/1988). This is probably the most desirable colour - diamond black with silver extended leather. Only around 20 something Highlines are believed to still be in existence, and this is probably one of a handful if not the only diamond black, dechromed and with servotronic steering example left?

One of these just sold at the NEC CCA sale on 01/04/2017 for £100100!! http://www.classiccarauctions.co.uk/1985-bmw-m635-csi-manual

Fitted with the 6 cylinder 3.5 BMW M88/3 engine coupled with a ZF 280/5 manual gearbox, the engine was initially derived for racing and found fame in the BMW M1, not to be confused with M30 218 bhp 6 cylinder engined E24's this is the very special one that is already legendary.

A good spec car, electric front seats with driver's memory, air conditioning, electric front sunroof, electric windows, electrically adjustable and heated mirrors, full leather, Servotronic power steering, ABS, on-board trip computer, rear blind, central locking, heated drivers door lock & more.

This car has undergone extensive improvement costing circa £25k. When I purchased the car it had already been kept/brought up to a high standard by the previous owner but been used very little over the years the previous owner had owned it but he had kept it in a climate controlled car storage bubble so the rust on the car was minimal which is rare for one of these cars.

The car was in excellent condition when I bought it and could have been used straight away but I am a perfectionist when it comes to my cars and I wanted to make this car the best I possibly could. If you have any experience with BMW cars or their parts department you will know how expensive the older BMW's can be to restore especially the M cars. Below is a breakdown of the things that have been done. You can see the sort of money that has been put into this car and every specialist job, paint, welding, engine work, transmission work has been carried out to a top standard. I had never intended to sell this car but needs must!!

The car has covered just over 144000 miles. I have two folders thick of receipts for all the work and even kept the old timing chain and guides so to prove its been done 100%.

Bodywork

The rust on the car was confined to the front wings, a small patch on the drivers foot well and two small sections on both lower rear arches. The wings were removed and sent to a specialist classic car restorer the wings were carefully stripped back to bare metal and repaired to as new standard and sprayed in 2 pac primer and two coats of POR15 Rust paint on the inside, these wings will never rust again....The inner wings and trumpet sections were completely rust free due to this being one of the last M635's made and therefore it had better galvanised panels and rust protection from the factory. Two new full new rear arch sections were purchased from Germany and cut off the small sections required for repair the arches so as to get a perfect finish. The floor panel was repaired by making a section and is as good as new. The car then had a complete glass out respray by a BMW trained and current BMW painter in the correct shade of Diamond metallic black. On completion of the paint all rubber door, boot, sunroof and engine seals were replaced for new. New bumper rubbing strips and front boomerang section fitted. New shadowline lower window trims and upper shadow line aluminium gutter trims. All new engine sound deadening as well. This car has no rot anywhere - I mean none.

White glovebox torch is present and working, all original docs, tools, keys are present and correct. Fitted with BMW Cooper Park Lane (original supplying dealer) number plates.

This is one of the very best M635CSi's left, these have become very popular and have become very collectable as so few are left and the rarest of all being the last Highline models.

See pics below - these give a general idea as to the condition. Some non Highline versions are advertised circa £50k, some for even more than that. One just sold as mentioned at auction for £100100 in April 2017!!. This is a genuine investment. No p/x or trade as i'm selling this to fund another vehicle i've already identified.
