Kenwood KP KD
7010 990 9010 1100 Tonearm,
Servo Operated Arm Lift
+ Original Headshell

RELISTED DUE TO A MONUMENTAL AMOUNT OF PROBLEMS WITH PREVIOUS BUYER.

Rare as hens teeth Kenwood High Stability Universal Tonearm
As used on the KP (Japan) KD (Export)
990, 9010, 1100, 7010 and 9010 Direct Drive Turntable

A sincerely regretable sale as the electrics in my KP 990 developed an electrical fault beyond any means of a resolution.

Sold as photographed but working when removed.

The arm is highly regarded in it's own right and has a servo assisted raising and lowering action which I've left on it. It runs on approx 16v, so a switch between a 16v source connected to the arm is all you need to raise and lower it. It also has a magnetic or some other arm underneath that when incorporated will automatically raise the arm at the end of the record. I'm not sure how to electrically incorporate that though.

It comes with it's original headshell and the wires at the bottom have been de-soldered, they could be connected to two RCA sockets or you might want to Re-loom the arm with a direct Litz or Cardas system.

The servo and parts underneath are detachable and you then fix the arm into the tonearm mountboard before reattaching the undercarriege.

The weight raises as the arm moves to the left and is connected by some nylon thread, this is also all working.

A highly unusual and effective tonearm that will fox even the most knowledgeable audiophiles.

Any questions are much appreciated, really happy to help. I may have some other KP990 parts knocking about so if you have a poorly example you are more than welcome to see if I have what you need. The dustcover, plinth and hinges have already gone though.

It will be impeccably boxed and Labelled FRAGILE and GLASS, with 5 labels to prevent as much movement in transit as possible.

All grading is very strict, conservative & adheres to 'Record Collector' specifications.
However, I have fine tuned them & they are explained below.
All vinyl is examined closely under a strong light & play tested.

MINT Condition = As good as a copy you would buy from a shop, immaculate!
I will not use this grading unless the item is sealed or under very special circumstances.

NEAR MINT Condition = Very nearly mint just slightly under, maybe a couple of very, very light paper sleeve scuffs that can only be seen under strong light. SOME WOULD CLASS THIS AS MINT. This disc has been played a couple of times at most. Cover is virtually perfect - very minimal wear only.

EX Condition = A clean & tidy copy that shows virtually no defects. Maybe one or two light needle scuffs or light sleeve removal marks that can only be seen under strong light. There will be no scratches. Play will be near perfect with no distortion. Cover will be very nice with maybe very minimal creasing, ring wear or edge wear.

NEAR EX Condition = You can tell this record has been played a few times but it has been well cared for. There will be minor surface marks only; that barely detract from the sound quality. Cover may have slight creasing or ring wear. A very serviceable copy that you will be pleased with.

VG Condition = A well played but serviceable copy. There will be a few marks on the vinyl, but they won't be nasty scratches, just relatively light needle scuffs and sleeve removal marks, they will be noticeable but won't detract from play too much. Cover will show signs of storage/ aging, e.g., creasing, slight folding, spine wear, ring wear or sticker tears. The record will not be trashed!!

WE DON'T SELL VINYL BELOW A "VERY GOOD" GRADE UNLESS PLACED IN LARGE LOTS AND CLEARLY SPECIFIED AS SUCH.

Much of the vinyl that we sell has been cleaned!

Cleaning makes a huge difference to the sound.
We use special machines to suck out and remove all dust and debris from the vinyl so that a clear groove remains for best possible playback.

Larger less valuable vinyl, if specified, will have been cleaned on the VPI 16.5 machine shipped from the USA. On this setup I use an Audio Technica AT 6012X velvet cleaning pad and then vacuum all remaining fluid and debris out.

For valuable 1st pressings or collectable vinyl we clean the vinyl on a state of the art Keith Monks Discovery One as used by the BBC for transcription records. We use our own specially formulated blend of fluid that we mix ourselves and the recipe is recommended by experienced collectors.

WE MIX OUR OWN RECORD CLEANING FLUID
Please find the recipe of our cleaning fluid below

2 liter distilled water
1 litre industrial alcohol (ethanol)
0.5 liter isopropyl alcohol
30 drops of liquid detergent
4 drops of wetting agent

PLEASE REQUEST A PLAY TEST IF REQUIRED!

If you like the look of an item we will happily play test it for you and send you a report.
Play tests are conducted on the system below.

PLEASE NOTE THAT I USE COURIERS!

HERMES, DHL AND TNT MAY BE USED DEPENDING ON WEIGHT. If you are unfortunate enough to have a problem with one of these companies then it's your responsibility to let me know before your item is shipped. I use these companies to keep the cost of shipping down. If I'm required to use anyone other than my preferred courier then the shipping price will be considerably higher.

WE ARE HAPPY TO SHIP INTERNATIONALLY through the Ebay postage plan, if the item falls outside the shipping plan please contact us for a quote before bidding to prevent any unpleasant surprises when shipping charges are added. Unless requested by you I will ship without tracking or insurance, I will though provide proof of postage. If you require tracking, insurance and a signed delivery then please let me know before I ship the item so I may quote and organise this.

WE SHIP OUR VINYL CLEARLY LABELLED FRAGILE, AS PHOTOGRAPHS OR GLASS. I ship all my vinyl in good cardboard protective envelopes with stiffeners when required. In the event that these are out of stock I will hand make an appropriate envelope out of stiff cardboard. 78rpm records are shipped in pizza style boxes or larger.

WE PREFER PAYPAL PAYMENTS.
This is required within 24 hours of purchase. Please note that any delay in payment will guarantee a delay in postage.

Returns will not be accepted later than 14 days or if contact has been made later than 14 days. The buyer is responsible for the return postage but I will refund the initial postage.
