THE COCKROACH THAT WROTE A SYMPHONY
TREVOR TODD-ILLUSTRATED BY TOM TREHAIR

Benjy Spears was bored.  He could have been at the beach with Frank and Neil and Robbie;  instead here he was stuck in his room doing stupid old music homework for Miss Bell.  Suddenly something darted across the top of his desk.  Ugh! Benjy jumped.  He hated cockroaches- shiny black creepies,  hairy legs,  feelers twitching.  He was about to slam a book on it when an incredible sight made him hesitate.  The cockroach was writing a line of music.
"Don't be ridiculous. Benjamin' was what they all said:  Benjy's mum,  Miss Bell, and Sir Peregrine Ample, the famous conductor.  That is until they saw it with their own eyes.  But amazed as they were,  not one of these people could have foreseen at the time, just how drastically the musical cockroach was to change all of their lives.
