You are purchasing a custom Regency-style gown in your size, made of cotton fabric. This Empire-waisted gown is gathered at the bust into an underbust band. The skirt is straight at the front and gathered at the back. The sleeves pictured in the Gallery Photo are short and puffy, but you may instead choose elbow length or long sleeves. On the inside of the bodice, I have sewn a grosgrain ribbon into the underbust band so that you may draw the gown as close under your bust as you like. This gown is fully lined in cotton -- bodice and skirt. Of the sleeve choices, the elbow length sleeves are lined. Long sleeves may be lined on request (please ask when giving measurements). Short puffy sleeves are unlined. The gown closes at the back with buttons.
Fabric selections are from those numbered, not from the finished gowns shown in this ad. You may choose from cotton fabric in this ad as well as my other custom Regency gown ads. Please do not ask me for fabric other than that which is listed. If you wish to purchase your own fabric and have me sew the gown, email me with your size and style preference and I will tell you the fabric and notions needed as well as the price for my labor.
*****I ask that you make your purchase based on which ad your fabric choice appears and then give me your sleeve choice with your measurements. If you are unsure of the color based on the digital photos, I would be happy to send you a swatch. The fabrics in this ad are blues (#55, small print floral, and 323, a pale blue woven.). And greens (#322 a darker green leaf print on a pale green background). My other ads have reds, pinks, lavenders, golds, browns, and creams. Please take a look!
Measurements that I will need:
Bust -- across the fullness, plus cup size. Please don't go by your bra size -- there is a difference.
Underbust -- measure wearing the underclothes you intend to wear. The underbust band will have a finished measurement of about 2" larger than your measurement for comfort and to accommodate any pesky change in your size.
Length of Bodice -- measure from the top of your natural shoulder, down over the fullness of the bust, and end at the underbust band.
Natural waist
Hips at the fullest.
Hem measurement -- measure from underbust to desired front hem. The back of the gown is 2-3" longer than the front.
Circumference of the upper arm, as well as desired length of sleeve. Measure from your natural shoulder to the desired length. For long sleeves, I recommend the sleeve cover the back of the hand.
If you have any specialty requests, don't hesitate to ask. I will accommodate your desires within reason.
