Pluto Platter was the very first Wham-O frisbee, introduced in the 1950's by Fred Morrison and bought by Wham-O in 1957 and produced until the early 60's when Wham-O started making other models and retooled the Pluto Platter mold into the Pro model.

This is the 6th edition of the Pluto Platter and is called "sixth period" according to Victor Malafronte's system and listed as WPP6 in the Kennedy system. That means there were no eskers where is lists San Gabriel, California, etc, and the numeral 1 does not appear in the center of the injector mold as it does in period 7. The 6th period was only made for an extremely brief time and so this is very rare and collectible. Malafronte's frisbee price guide says this model is worth $450 in mint condition and $225 in very good condition. I would say this is very good. The disc is quite scratched with a little peeling on the underside, but no cuts or gouges, dog bites or holes of any kind, and not warped at all.

The caption for the WPP6 in the Kennedy book reads, "Both eskers were removed creating the WPP6. This short-lived, very rare WPP7 "precursor" has been found only in red so far." So it's extremely rare, add it to your collection!!

People have been asking for close up photos of the central injection area. I took a super close up but can't add it to the listing because there are already bids so I can't chance the photos. I uploaded the photos on the web at
