Up for auction is a very rare IBM PC110 palmtop PC.

The IBM PC110 was only sold in Japan.  I purchased it direct from IBM Japan in 1995 via 3rd party/.
At 6"x4"x1" It's one of the smallest PC's ever made.  The PC110 came standard with 4M of RAM but I had it upgraded to the max of 20M via an additional 16M memory module.  I also had the unit professionally modified to run at 40Mhz vs the normal 33Mhz.  Also included is a Panasonic CDROM drive with integrated 16bit sound card and integrated speakers that was used with the PC110.  The CDROM can be powered with the included wall adapter or via 6 AA batteries.

This PC110 is fully operational, boots PC-DOS from the 4M storage and loads IBM's personaware software.  I've also ran Windows 95, OS/2 and Linux on this machine via 1G IBM Microdisks (not included).  The coolest/oddest part about this device is it can be used as a normal telephone.

Whats Included:

IBM PC110 486 40Mhz 20M RAM and 4M internal flash storage
IBM PC110 docking station
IBM PC110 floppy drive
IBM PC110 power supply
IBM PC110 original installation disks (2 total)

Panasonic KXL-D745 SCSI CDROM and 16bit sound card
Panasonic PCMCIA CDROM/Sound interface card and cable
Panasonic KXL-D745 power supply
Panasonic KXL-D745 driver disks (2 total)

I tested all included floppy disks and they are working correctly. The files expected to be there are there and I'm able to copy the software from them.

Whats not included:

This PC110 does not come with a battery.  It uses a normal Hitachi VM-BPL13, Canon BP-911, or Sony NP-F550 camcorder battery.  The batteries are very common and inexpensive.

The buyer will also want to put a new CR2016 battery in the PC110 as the one thats in it does not hold a charge for very long causing the PC110 to "forget" the current date and time when it's powered off and unplugged from the power adapter.

Overall everything is in very good condition for its age and only has a few minor scratches.  At some point the insulation on the power supply cable was ripped and repaired with electrical tape.  The CDROM has a small crack in the plastic cover that does not effect operation.  One of the PC110 installation disks has a stain on it and the metal piece is slightly bent but works fine. -All very minor issues for a device of this age.

Updated information:

To alleviate any concerns as to the BIOS not keeping date and time I purchased and installed a new CR2016 battery today and the BIOS now retains the date and time without any issues when disconnected from the AC adapter.  The buyer will still need to purchase a main battery if they want to operate the PC110 without the AC adapter.

The DC power adapter is 100v and made for Japan but operates fine on 120v and fits into a normal wall socket without any adapters. The cord is taped in 3 places. I've used this adapter for many years without issues but any center positive 10.5V AC to DC adapter that puts out at least 1.3A would work fine.

The display hinge is slightly loose on the right hand side of the display. It moves less than 1/4 of an inch. The hinge hasn't broken or been replaced nor I have never opened the unit and tightened it.

The PC110 has a 486SLC processor and 20M of RAM. It will NOT run Windows XP, Windows 7 or Crysis. If you are looking for a vintage piece of portable computing history this is it. If you are looking for a machine to browse the web and play games this probably isn't what you are looking for.

Please keep in mind this is a 17 year old computer. I've made every attempt to accurately describe the items up for auction but due to its age its sold AS IS.
