Up for purchase is the Clarks Originals Desert boot. An England classic inspired by the Desert boots worn my British forces in the Western Desert Campaign of World War II. In 1941 Nathan Clark discovered the shoes in Burma where he noticed officers wearing these strange boots because their old-military issue boots had failed them out on the desert terrain. Clark learned the boots were originally been commissioned to Cairo cobblers by South African soldiers. They wanted something that was both lightweight and grippy which led to creation of a boot with a suede upper on a crepe sole. Now a staple of casual boots this classic is now available to you from AJCshoes.
