Messerschmitt KR200 bubble car for restoration

The Messerschmitt does have most of the major components which would be required for a restoration but as per the pictures it must be noted that EVERY part on this car is in VERY VERY poor condition.

If you have not restored a Messserschmitt before then this might not be for you.

There are many parts missing, but these are available via the relevant Messerschmitt clubs.

No paperwork with this car, but I have the engine number, chassis number and also aware of what I believe is to be the registration number. 

TUB Frame is is snapped at the rear near the firewall and would need significant repair.  (There is a specific picture showing the extent of what is required to repair). 

Would need all new panels but all available through various sources.

NOSE + REAR Both extremley poor condition, potentional repair (i.e. headlight section disappeared along with dashboard on nose).  Could replace with fibreglass.

LIFTING SECTION Needs work, but dome frame and window sections complete - dome and front screen would need replacing.  Dome with the car but has 5 inch hole and very poor condition

Wings are included but they are in very bad condition.

ENGINE is with the car but would need a complete rebuild(Engine and car stood outside for many years).  The carb and air filter come with the car.  The exhaust is complete too.  There is not a piston and no drive shaft to join the engine to the rear drive unit (You can buy these new).

Petrol tank bad but could be fixed or used as a patern

REAR Drive unit and engine frame included

The black box is also with the engine, but again has been stood outside in the elements for many years.

The pedals are included and all significant steering parts complete including the handlebars.

All the seats are complete in terms of metal work.

Missing all lights, cables, switches, instruments and very bad wiring.

Only two wheels unfortunately.  Again new wheels are recommended and available.

Cash on collection.

 

This is a very fair reflection of the car and would require significant work and investment to return to former glory.
