What is Mykos?
Mykos is a fast growing beneficial fungi that connects many of the
beneficial microbes to the host plant. This relationship increases the
supply of nutrients to the plant increasing fundamental elements
required for plant growth.
Mykos is RTI's world record-breaking mycorrhizal innoculant. Averaging
3000 spores per 50 ml sample, it is the nation’s highest spore count
endo-mycorrhizal inoculant. Mykos is registered with certified INVAM
pedigrees (INVAM being the world’s utmost authority on the culturing of
mycorrhizae) and its Glomus intraradices 801 species, proprietary to RTI,
is considered to be the most aggressive, high-yielding strain of
mycorrhizae ever produced. Mykos ensures both faster growing and
higher-yielding plants.
It is formulated from pure endo-mycorrhizae, meaning that it works from
within the roots, not from without like ecto-mycorrhizae, which only
benefits conifers and hardwood trees. It is the purest and most
infective mycorrhizal fungi currently available, delivered straight from
the nation’s oldest and top grower of mycorrhizae, Reforestation
Technologies International.
What Benefits Will Mykos Deliver?
Superior Nutrient Management:
Mykos is the “quarterback” and “gatekeeper” of the soil microbe team.
Mykos directs the activity of a wide range of beneficial microbes (Plant
Growth Promoting Bacteria) and barters for nutrients on behalf of the
host plant. It transports carbohydrates to “PGPB’s” and returns
essential elements back to the plant. When a plant requires more
“manganese”, Mykos negotiates a supply based upon availability. When a
healthy, dynamic soil is loaded with Mykos, “PGPB’s”, and nutrient
supplies, growth potential is at its greatest and plant defense
mechanisms are at their stongest.
Faster Growth:
Plants focus a large percentage of their energy on obtaining nutrients
and moisture from the soil. The amount of nutrients and moisture that
plants can obtain are limited by two factors: the size of the root zone
and the “ingestability” of the nutrients available.
Mykos relieves plants of both these limits. Mykos takes over the roots
job, efficiently mining an exponentially larger amount of soil, and by
breaking-down nutrients into a form that plants can use. Although many
are unaware of this fact, it is nearly impossible for plants to
transports to your roots for ingestion (much like a mother spoon feeding
her baby). Plants utilizing Mykos now have the ability to focus their
energy on doing what a plant is meant to do – grow.
And grow they do.
Mykos increases overall plant biomass and yield by up to 300%! In
