Up for auction is this vintage trolling reel that is not often seen - at least not by me - this is the first I've ever seen.  It is a Sea Gull 300 yard model made by Schoenfeld Gutter, Inc.  It is made of German Silver (as marked) and hard rubber.  It's about 3 1/2" in diameter and about 2 3/4" wide - side plate to sideplate.  The hard rubber has no cracks or chips, but it has several small dents and scratches.  The metal components have a "patina" commensurate with the age of the reel, with nothing really ugly.  The arbor looks the worst, but it is a bronze or brass, which accentuates the appearance of rust.  It seems to work fine, with a strong click and smooth crank.  The spacer between the sideplate and the handle is not secured to the sideplate. It's opening is oblong, so if it shifts, it can affect the cranking.  Since I've never seen one of these, even in pictures, I'm unsure if all the components are there or correct.  For instance: should there be a washer between the handle and its screw, or one between the handle and the previously mentioned spacer?   Is the handle correct?  What's with the odd shaped nut (?) on the end of the spool on the left side?  Those are my questions, but hopefully you, the expert collector will know what you're looking at.  Especially in this case, please use the pictures - of which I have tried to provide detailed close ups - to help you determine for yourself what is being offered, as well as condition.  Feel free to contact me with any questions you might have too.  Check my other listings for more interesting items.  When possible, I will combine items to save you shipping costs.   Shipping will cost $8.00 for Priority Mail delivery, delivery confirmation included.   As always, my items are packaged with great care and shipped in sturdy boxes - no envelopes, padded or otherwise.  Thanks for looking and good luck.

NOTE: International bids will be considered, but you must contact me before doing so.  If your bidding is approved, I will advise of approximate shipping costs at that time.
