Triple Self-Portrait
Norman Rockwell
The Saturday Evening Post Cover - February 13, 1960
THIS IS A METAL
Professional FRAMED PRINT for auction.
Not just a print.
This was hanging in one of
the rooms at my Grandparents home.
Has some slight age to the
Matting around the print but the FRAME and actual PRINT look great.
You could leave it just as
it is and hang it up, or you could make it more modern looking bot changing the
MATTE color and maybe painting the metal Frame Black or Silver. Its currently a
clean polished Brass or Gold tone.
Print Size is approx: 19” x 24”
Whole Frame is 24” x 30”
One
of the photos shows a stamp for care instruction’s and the construction of the
frame.
Rockwell
placed himself (he is actually shown in this painting at least seven times) in
good company - all four of the portraits on the right side of the easel: Durer,
Rembrandt, Van Gogh, and Picasso were painted by Rockwell himself. Stoltz tells
us "that when asked about his foggy glasses Rockwell replied, 'I had to
show that my glasses were fogged, and that I couldn't actually see what I
looked like - a homely, lanky fellow - and therefore, I could stretch the truth
just a bit and paint myself looking more suave and debonair than I actually
am.'"
