eBay
A very rare if not unique chance to buy this very special and rare care. It has been dry stored in my barn for the last 25 years.

It is a Falcon mk2 bodyshell which were manufactured around the late 1950's(1959 I think) when fibreglass body shells were just starting off. It is loosely based on a mini Jaguar D type. The company was Falcon Shells Ltd of Waltham Abbey. Please search google, both web and images, for more info, which is on there. Body is in extremely good condition considering its age.

The chassis, engine, gearbox, running gear etc is a 1946 Ford sidevalve. I have the logbook and some old tax book stamps somewhere but can't find them at the moment. It has it original number plates.

I stripped and painted the chassis 25yrs ago and this is still in very good condition. It had new floors then as well.

Engine block was painted then as well and engine turned over but I have never started it. It was well oiled so hopefully still moves.

3 speed Ford gearbox.

Rod operated drum brakes all round.

It has loads of real 'goodies' like Aquaplane alloy cylinder head, inlet manifold and twin SU carbs. Nice exhaust manifold. Side exit exhaust.

Also front suspension is converted to semi independent.

Various other wheels come with it which were used to change the gearing for hillclimbing/racing, which I understand from the chap I bought it from all those years ago, is what it had been used for.

Perspex side windows and a glass windscreen which it also came with.

Fuel tank included.  No seats.

I have never in all my years of being around classic cars/racing etc ever seen one of these before. A friend can remember one and he wonders if it was mine!

I have seen one similar for sale a couple of years back in the US with FIA papers and it was up for $60,000 !   Another similar road car was £20,000 restored!

If you want something very different and a bit special, now is your chance!

Would make a fantastic classic racer.

I have a book somewhere which was written around the late 50's on how to build up your own 'special'. I remember in that it says if you are lucky enough to own an electric drill etc it will make the job easier........ !! Wow how times have changed. I'll try and find the book. It says with all the aquaplane goodies on etc these were good for 100mph even then! Scary! Rod brakes!

I have an original advert for Falcon Shells Ltd from the 1950' s picturing a car like this.

One of the prettiest, stunning looking little cars I have ever seen. Awesome!

More than welcome to view, near Spalding, Lincolnshire. Contact through ebay messages.

Cash on collection only. Advertised elsewhere so may be removed before end.

Many thanks for looking.

Please note;- I have had so much interest in this car and some very serious offers to buy it before the auction ends. These are quite a lot more than it stands at the moment. I am letting the auction run though for a while as I think it is fair to all those who are watching or have already bid. If you are interested though please don't leave your bidding to the end as it may be taken off if it doesn't reach what I have already been offered or think it is worth. Good luck to you all, the winner will have a very special car!!!

Oh, the windscreen on the car at the moment is perspex, the glass one that comes with it may even be something like a rear screen from a 50's car as it is curved on the ends quite alot.
