Made in West-Germany, this is a porcelain or ceramic wind up figural clock.  The name “Norco” is on the actual clock; West-Germany is engraved on the back of the time piece.  It is 9” long at the longest points, 9.5” high, and almost 3” wide at the widest points. The scene surrounding the clock is absolutely breathtaking! The clock itself is on a two legged pedestal.  Across the top of the clock are two beautiful naked cherubs, lounging with heads together on an array of colorful fruits and flowers. On the left side of the clock is a white wigged male musician playing a violin.  On the right side of the clock is a woman leaning on the clock with her right arm, and holding a fan in her left hand.  Both are exquisitely dressed from Mozart’s time (the Classical period, I believe).  There are also flowers near the male.  All of this is mounted on a lovely half-moon shaped platform, which is trimmed in a gold leaf design.  Everything is hand painted and signed behind the lady by the artist (I can’t make out the signature).  The clock itself will tick when you wind it, but then stops, then starts; it is inconsistent in its timekeeping.  There is a loose part covering one of the mechanisms.  I will cover it with masking tape to make sure it stays on in shipment. I took it to a local antique appraiser and he placed a value of $100+ on it.  He believed that the timing mechanism just needs a good cleaning, but I did not attempt that for fear of damaging something.  At any rate, this is a phenomenal piece in excellent pre-owned condition! The only flaw I see is a tiny nick on the gentleman’s coat. Incredible collectible clock!
