Vintage Gold Railroad SWITCHMEN UNION of NORTH AMERICA Enameled 2 Side Charm Fob

My husband and mother passed away and I am selling items from their estates. They both had many hobbies and collections and they loved antiques and collectables of all kinds. Mother loved to buy all kinds of things and never use them!

DESCRIPTION:

This auction is for a beautiful old watch fob. The fob has the same emblem on both sides.  If the center of the fob there is a large “S” and near the end of the “S” it has a rail road track with 2 ties and a spike.  In the center portion of the “S” there is enamel in red, white and blue and the letters “U of NA”.

I identified this fob in the catalogue “Emblems” “Irons & Russell Company”.  This emblem is for the “Switchmen of North America. 

The gold is not marked as to the type of gold it is so it is probably not gold but gold filled.  I have not polished this but it has a nice shine to it.     

I don’t think you see these very often especially in this condition.

Width: 15/16”

Height with loop: 1 & 1/16”

CONDITION:

This Watch Fob or Charm has been very gently used and under a magnifying glass I see light surface scratches but no major wear. The enameling has no chips or cracks it is still in excellent condition. I did not polish this fob.

This is clean and ready to wear, display or give as a gift.

These had been carefully stored along with 1000’s of other items Mother purchased and never used.

This will arrive in a box ready to wrap for a gift.
