The Big Book of Fables
edited by Walter Jerrold
illustrated by Charles Robinson
published by Blackie in 1912
First Edition
28 colour illustrations, 100 black and white drawings, all present and wonderful
A massive book packed wirth illustrations, part of the set of three such books (Fairy Tales and Nursery Rhymes which were published in 1911)
So many gorgeoous illustrations. My favourite is a cheeky self portrait of Charles Robinson with Walter Jerrold which accompany a new fable at the back of the book addresses to literary critics "Against the hard to suit"
