Oil on ply panel, 7.25" x 9.75" approx., of a landscape with sheep & distant moorland, inscribed "H. E. Crute" on the back. Dates probably from the early to mid 20th century. Unframed

The brushwork in this painting is phenomenal - finely worked while still impressionist - resulting in a very pleasing surface texture. If you blow up my detail photos you will see what I mean - hard to remember it is such a small painting!
