The Silverstar is Raider Motorsport's first 250cc build in several years, and if comments during the build are anything to go upon I think we'll build a couple more in the not to distant future.  Anyone new to the Raider Retro range of reproduction bikes should visit our Facebook page to get an idea of what you're looking at so far as value for money and build quality.  As well as the Facebook page, which has detailed pics and information at various stages of the Silverstar, and other past builds, you will find similar info on pics under the projects tab of our web site (www.raidermotorsport.com.au).  Every Raider Retro is built from bare frame, and what isn't brand-new or custom hand-made is replaced, serviced, overhauled, or rebuilt.  Our bikes are re-manufactured; please do not mistake a Raider Retro for a second-hand grey import.

The Silverstar is aptly titled as it's the little brother of our 500cc Goldstar, both being styled upon the iconic BSA Goldstar, one of the worlds most admired Cafe Racers.  This bike features far too many custom features and hand-made items to list, but safe to say it is very much a one-of-a-kind build and suited to those riders who want to own something uniquely different, and certainly something that stands out from the crowd.   As you'll see in the pics, even the youngest member of the Raider Motorsport team wants this bike, so you may have a fight getting it out of the workshop should you decide to collect it when Jack's around.

Despite the Silverstar's small capacity, the RFV 4 valve twin cam engine is not short on grunt and sounds fabulous, is easily capable of cruising at 110-120kph, and is smooth as silk thanks to the trademark Honda anti-vibration engine mounting design.  During road trials the Silverstar ran faultlessly, with the only changes we felt necessary were a new battery and adjust the hand-lever height to make the riding position even more comfortable.
