SEAN TYLA’S autobiography coincides - "Jumpin’ in the Fire (a life in rock’n’roll)"  is published by Soundcheck Books.

In 1977 former Ducks Deluxe front-man Sean Tyla’s new, more aggressive project Tyla Gang first found an outlet in the early punk maelstrom with the newly-formed Stiff Records, who released the 7” ‘Styrofoam’ (BUY 4).  This was followed by the ‘Suicide Jockey’  7” on Skydog, then it was on to new US-based label Beserkely Records, home to The Modern Lovers, who issued two albums, ‘Yachtless’ (1977) and ‘Moonproof’ (1978). 

The Tyla Gang line-up featured Bruce Irvine on guitar and Mike Desmarai on drums; Peter O’Sullivan, Brian Turrington, and early Ducks member Ken Whaley variously handled the bass duties.  They played 800 gigs in 2½ years on European tours on their own and with the likes of AC/DC and Rush.  Along with TV and radio performances, they built up to be a leading live band of the age, earning a gold disc in Germany.  They split exhausted after the Berserkley label folded.

Now in 2010 they’ve reformed due to ‘unfinished business’, rescued unheard tracks that should have appeared on their third album, and are touring Sweden & UK in September & October (Half Moon Putney on Weds Oct. 20).  Sean Tyla is also active with solo dates and reformed Ducks Deluxe tours – see attached datesheet.  His autobiography, with foreword by Will Birch, coincides on Soundcheck Books.

We also accept cheques from UK banks in Pounds Sterling, and UK Postal Orders.  Checks in US Dollars from US banks can be accepted with a $3 surcharge.

Postage
UK and particularly international postage charges have risen sharply (May 2012).  The amount we charge is what we expect to pay plus approx 20-30p for packing materials. 
Multiple items postage
If you are ordering multiple items, there will be automatic approximated reduction in postage costs – but make sure you order them together, not individually.  If the estimate still looks excessive, don't pay but click on the 'Request total from seller' button in the shopping basket.  We'll then recalculate the costs for your combined items postage and send you an invoice.  The postage may or may not calculate as less; we’re trying to refine the accuracy of the automation.
(Note: the date printed on our postage is two days after we print it, ie the date it remains valid until with Royal Mail.)
