Up for auction is my lightly used Carvin Bunny Brunel Fretless BB-75 5 String Bass.  The bass comes with Carvin’s Translucent Pearl Blue finish, ebony fretboard, gold hardware, new Sperzel locking aftermarket tuners, new flatwound strings, and it's original hard case.  The gold hardware offers a beautiful contrast to the blue finish.  The new gold-colored Sperzel locking tuners retail for $75 for the set. They are rock solid and stay in tune.  The ebony fretboard is in excellent condition with no observable wear. It has always been strung with flatwound strings and the bass has seen little use.  The 1/4" jack is on the face.  The instrument was built by Carvin's custom shop.

This is a gorgeous and solid bass.  The electronics deliver the wide variety of tone that you would expect.  It is easy to get a nice punchy and tight sound, along with the “mwah” and vibrato that set the fretless basses apart.  The low B string is surprisingly tight for a 34” scale length.  And, of course, it allows you to play those low octave notes while staying in a higher position.

If you are considering the move to a fretless bass, or from a fretless with lines to “the long black slab”, the dot markers on the edge of the neck make this surprisingly doable. Go fretless without the lines and get the respect you deserve!  I have other fretless basses that I play more often and its time to upgrade the studio. So this one has to go.

This CARVIN BB75 5-STRING FRETLESS with OHSC is in Excellent Condition:  The neck is stable and flat—no issues. I have the action set moderately low.  There are no scratches to the finish. Just one small ding on the bottom.  There is some light scuffing to the clearcoat near the strings and pickups from normal playing/use.  Note that there is one cosmetic flaw: my buddy was reinstalling the battery compartment and drove the retaining screw in a hair too far.  You can see the small rise in the wood of the top in the photo of the bridge & controls, located just above the control knobs.  This very small separation does not affect tone, use, or playability, and can only be seen when examining the instrument face at a very close proximity.  You can back the screw out and press the blemish back the 1/32nd of an inch if you feel it’s necessary.  It never bothered me.

The case is original, fits like a glove, and is in good condition.  There is light wear on the case exterior but no scratches, dents, cracks or holes.   All case hardware is present, 100% functional, with no rust or tarnish.

This sale includes: bass guitar, locking strap buttons, and the original hard shell case.
