Please read the description in full before bidding Up for auction is a 1976 Norton Commando 850 MK2A Last of the non electric start Commandos and widely regarded as the best Commandos built This bike has been standing for a long time, last taxed in 1995 Engine and Frame numbers are correct for a 1974 build year The bike is a genuine UK bike and not a USA import, I have the V5C in my name It will need a full restoration The engine turns over but with low compression. No attempt has been made to start it Cylinder barrell has 1 broken fin All gears engage and box turns freely No airbox is fitted Chassis is rusty and pitted, as are the wheels & exhaust and all other chrome work Original footrests missing, rear sets fitted Front brake has been modified Paintwork looks good in the photos but there are scratches from storage and it will need re doing All in all there is a good bike here but make no mistake this will not be a weekends work, it will require time, money and effort, but that will be worth while when this bike rewards all that hard work the first time you take it out on the road. I had an 850 Roadster a few years ago and what a fantastic bike that was These bikes are fetching a premium now and rightly so, as they are in many peoples opinion the best British Twin cylinder motorcycle The 850 is a better engine than the 750, more torque, these motors just pull and pull and with the isolastic engine mountings the vibes don't get through to the rider Any questions please email or phone 01264 861444 Viewing welcome, in fact it would be better to do so Delivery can be arranged Sorry but no paypal, cash on collection or cheque or bank transfer If you have a feedback score of less than ten please email me before bidding or your bid maybe removed PLEASE ONLY BID IF YOU HAVE THE FUNDS TO PAY AND KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TAKING ON. THANKS On 03-Oct-13 at 12:22:08 BST, seller added the following information: Sorry, meant to state that the seat is incorrect as it is a Roadster item. |
