This TRUE universal USB to serial breakout board is designed from ground to top to meet all your serial protocol needs.

Other FT2232H based breakout board do not have buffer chip installed, thus it only supports 3.3v or 5v devices (and you may encounter errors w/o buffer chip installed) and only has TTL level serial communication.  However our board has the following chip added: 74LVC16T245 and MAX3243, thus it supports target as low as 1.8v with buffer, also for serial communication, you can connect to RS232 level target directly.

Our board also has a LDO installed, so you can get +3.3v and +5v from our board (e.g. power your device)

We also installed EEPROM on the board, so you can use FTDI's tool to program your own VID or PID

This board is based on FTDI's high speed USB to Serial/JTAG/SPI/I2C chip FT2232H. It has dual serial port.

The FT2232H is FTDI’s 5th generation of USB devices.  The FT2232H is a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed (480Mb/s) to UART/FIFO IC.  It has the capability of being configured in a variety of industry standard serial or parallel interfaces.Building on the innovative features of the FT2232, the FT2232H has two multi-protocol synchronous serial engines (MPSSEs) which allow for communication using JTAG, I2C and SPI on two channels simultaneously.
