This book is a rarity and really hard to find gem. Great addition to a reference and tattoo history library not only for a hard core Irezumi passionate but anybody who would like to look into beautiful world of Irezumi and works of the old Japanese Tebori Masters. Plenty of photographs of tattoos, old masters at work and events when this underground art comes to the day light - great piece of history. The layout of this book is pure 1960s--Richie's forward is typeset all in capital letters with the text blocks taking the form of triangles, arrows, and zigzags. Morita's photographs document a wide range of early Japanese Tebori Masters : Horibumi, Horisute, Horiuno I, II, and III, Horigoro, Horisada, Horikin, Yanekuma, and Horiyoshi. The book isn't new - it is 1966 1st and only edition but is in great shape - all of the pages are in and the book isn't damaged. It comes with a sleeve which has the usual signs of age and wear marks but this is minimal, Plastic cover protects the book case.
