Transmitter BC-640 is a VHF ground-to-air transmitter used in the later stages of the Second World War.The equipment was normally used with the matching tuneable VHF receiver BC-639.
Up for bids is this cool WWII BC-640-B transmitter. It has signal corps tags all over it along with the red British Air Ministries tags. This is an American made unit but was patterned after a British model. This transmitter was mainly used for use with airplanes. The rack is complete and in pretty good condition as you can see from the photos. One handle is loose and I had to snip the wires and remove each unit to transport but all screws are included. I am selling this untested as I have no way to do so. All of the tubes are present. The rack is over 6' tall and is very heavy. There are schematics online which show how this system is laid out. I am offering this as a pick up item as it is very heavy. I will work with your shipping company if you need it shipped. I will need to charge a fee to crate if needed. Please e-mail with any questions. Thanks for looking.
