PLEASE NOTE; FOR THE PURPOSE OF COMPLYING WITH EBAY POLICIES, WE ARE REQUIRED TO STATE THAT THIS AUCTION IS FOR A TANGIBLE ITEM, A PAIR OF CHILD'S VINTAGE TAP SHOES. EBAY REGARDS PARANORMAL, HAUNTED, AND METAPHYSICAL LISTINGS AS ENTERTAINMENT ONLY.

Here's a very neat find from a haunted Virginia estate that comes to us courtesy of a friend who is clearing and repairing the neglected family homestead. We hadn't heard from Paul for several years, until he heard we were placing haunted items for Mr. B.

The last resident of the estate was his aunt Caroline, who passed away at an advanced age, and reportedly suffered the family curse of madness. The estate's history and ghostly residents have been mentioned in other recent listings, and we will add some below, but for now we want to give some info on these little shoes.

These were found in the nursery closet, along with a few boxes of very old (mainly Victorian) children's books and other assorted antique and vintage toys. The name Lisa is marked on the soles, but Paul has no clue who Lisa is, unless some distant cousin. (apparently, many relatives were estranged from their old roots and wanted to put plenty of space between themselves and the past so are all over the US.) Don't know what size these are, except they are 7 1/2" long. They are black paten leather and one is missing the red ribbon bow. Paul feels these shoes may be haunted, since there was alot of knocking in the nursery closet. If actually possessed, tap dancing might wake one up in the middle of the night! We have no personal experience with them, but based on the house's history, feel it is a definite possibility.

The old nursery was considered a 'safe' room in the house, as the ghost of Jenny was somehow prevented from entering. When alive in the 19th century, Jenny 'lost her senses' at least long enough to swing her infant head first against the wall and murder it. We are not sure if Jenny was a direct family member, or had married into the family (according to some accounts, she had been a servant or local girl seduced by a member of the family who refused to marry her) but most records and traces of her were hushed up and erased, and her story existed by word of mouth through a few generations. She is the source of some haunting activity, including the disembodied wailing of an infant in the house, and the sightings of a disheveled young woman running frantically around the outside of the house, shouting and sobbing. Aunt Caroline lived as a recluse and whether or not ghostly activity was frequent, it certainly effected her mind after so many years.

The nursery was believed to be haunted by a few children, including Leopold, aunt Caroline's older brother who passed away from sepsis when he was 9, and Caroline was about 3 or 4. The ghost of old Nan or Black Nan, the children's nurse, is said to be a benevolent guardian or protector there, and aunt Caroline used to talk about the other youngsters who would run around the house playing. In any event, whether these hauntings were genuine or merely family legends made real in Caroline's mind, few people visit the house without feeling something.

Questions? Please ask! We will be listing several of the children's books from the same closet, and think they would make the perfect addition to a spirited doll family especially if they are Victorian souls.

Ebay requires us to include the disclaimer that all items listed in the paranormal, mystical, haunted or occult categories are offered for entertainment purposes only. Ebay regards this as a  pair of child's vintage tap shoes   with no intangibles attached or implied.

We try to price items affordably, usually well below their genuine value, in order to move them to more permanent homes in the community of collectors who would appreciate their true worth.

Please bid responsibly, and only if you are genuinely interested and will honor your commitment to buy.

IMPORTANT STUFF TO KNOW!

Payment required within 24 hours of auction end. Sorry if this is a problem, but too many non-paying buyers have made this requirement necessary!

YES! We are among the rare sellers of haunted items WHO ACCEPT RETURNS!! Our policy allows returns within 3 days of receipt, so please contact us ASAP! We feel 3 days gives our buyers time to make an 'in person' assessment of their purchases, and prevents spirits and entities from creating too strong a bond to a new environment, only to be relocated. Good sense! Any returns must be in original condition.

And we gladly refund any excess postage paid ()$1 or more, once the item is shipped! Such a deal! Postage is often guesstimated because we have no idea where something will eventually need to be sent, so understand, you WILL get back any over-charge!

As always, all vintage items are sold as found. Some pieces are in better shape than others, and have been in many other homes-- so we can't promise anything came from a pet free, or smoke free home. We do our best to describe everything to the best of our ability from Bob's info, but rarely do we have any of our own experiences with spirited dolls to add as these items are usually not in our keeping very long.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE: We NEVER get around to marking items as shipped-- old dogs do not learn new tricks here, as we currently manage 4 accounts and have been selling on eBay since 1997. Please contact us with any questions, any time. We normally contact folks once their package is shipped, with tracking or customs form numbers.

Please browse our listings and come back again often, as we try to add more every day! Thanks!
