eBay

So I get asked constantly about this auction of mine and if I'm serious.  I get messages often calling me crazy, nuts, a no talent, hack, loser, geek, etc, etc.  I figured I'd go ahead and explain why this auction is here.  Not too long ago I was publicly insulted by a co-worker about this hobby of mine.  He thought it would be fun to attack a hard working, married, father of two because of his hobby. It was likely done because of their envy, lack of self esteem, and probably their inability to, at a minimum, color within the lines.  I have pretty thick skin, but what's unfortunate is in this social media world we live in, those comments last a long time.  It's out there for the whole world to see and one day, unfortunately, my kids will read it.  We've raised them well enough to know they'll pay no mind to the haters, but still.....  So, I went ahead and made it clear of my love for Star Wars.  Loved it ever since my mom took me to see it as a kid in 1977.  I think it's one of the greatest stories of good vs. evil ever told.  It tells a story about love, hate, anger, sacrifice, redemption, honor, and does it all without offending any one race, without excessive bloodshed, gore, and violence, and without profanity.  And the best part, it's science fiction.  It makes you believe in the unbelievable...........I guess that just resonated with me as a kid.

I have a background in art and have always loved drawing, painting, and building things from scratch (which came from my talented mother, love ya mom!).  I'll admit it, I don't have the talent of many of the other builders and artists out there, but I love what I can do.  I started building these figures over 10 years ago for love of the hobby. So, when someone told said employee these were probably worth money, their reply was, "Ha, he couldn't sell those pieces of **** for a dime." Again, I'm not one to be easily offended.  So, that's when I decided to go ahead and prove them wrong by listing this auction.  And yes, I have received offers, one as high as $5,000 (which was very generous by the way, but I have more than that in these with materials and labor).  That employee is well aware of this auction and has since been served a piece of humble pie as the attention these have received has led to offers, these figures being discussed on a well known pod / webcast, two news articles, and an offer to showcase them on a reality TV show.  But people freak out and send me rude messages when they see the price, as if I'm serious! The reason I listed this at $400,000?  Simple, to draw attention (people often filter by highest price) and because that was the max eBay would let me list it at!  Do people really think I expect to sell these for that much! Sure, I'd sell them for a reasonable price, but I'm not crazy and know it wouldn't be for $400,000!  If I were to sell them, it would probably be for around $15,000 because honestly, that's about what it cost me to build them.

But most importantly, let this auction be a reminder to all the naysayers that their lives will continue to be difficult when they spread hate and discontent.  It's also a reminder for everyone else to do what you love, no matter what the haters say. And remember, if you don't have something nice to say, please, "move along, move along".

DESCRIPTION

This is my entire collection of life-size Star Wars figures.  I personally built each and every one of these figures.  Some specific pieces on a few figures were purchased from my prop builder friends, some from other sellers, and some pieces were completely scratch built by me.  These figures were built over the last 10 years, have taken a good chunk of money, countless hours, and a lot of sweat.  Clearly you can see I am a huge Star Wars fan; building these figures has been a labor of love.   I won't be selling individual pieces or splitting up this collection. Please note, these are fan made by me; some individual parts are licensed collectibles (X-wing helmet, blaster), but these are not mass produced officially licensed items.  I am in no way affiliated with Disney, Lucas Film, or any other similar entity.  I pride myself on my work, but I am not a professional prop builder.  I will say that every time someone sees these, they are blown away.  They may not impress the die hard Star Wars fan who has studied each and every piece of production material with a magnifying glass, but most anyone else will likely be impressed.  I receive nothing but great comments on each of these pieces.

Here is a description of each piece:

1.  X-Wing Pilot Luke Skywalker - This figure is built on a mannequin, approx. 5'11".  The helmet is an EFX with the inner ear pads removed.  New ear pads were custom scratch built.  The flak vest, data cylinders, leg flares, nylon webbing holders, and flight harness are all scratch built.  The belt and holster are genuine, stained leather.  The gun is a custom built and painted airsoft base and can be removed from the holster.  The chest box and COMM pad light up with battery operated LEDs.  The boots and gloves are run of the mill costume store accessories.  I custom airbrushed the Luke head, installed fake eyes, and affixed the head to the mannequin body.  The chest box was made by another prop builder.

2.
Boba Fett - This is also a mannequin, approx. 5'11.  The helmet is cast in resin and custom painted by me.  The jumpsuit was also custom made.  The gauntlets and jet pack are custom made from vacuum formed plastic / ABS / styrene / sintra.  Those pieces, as well as the shin tools, were made by a prop builder and custom painted by me.  The top armor pieces are styrene / sintra and custom painted by me. The cod piece is from another prop builder.  The girth belt, flak vest, ammo pouches, gloves, and boots were all custom made and painted by me.  The ammo pouches are non-functioning.

3.
Han Solo in Carbonite - I custom built the box and the Han Solo pieces are cast in rubber and painted by me.  The carbonite material was also done by me.  This piece has approx. 30 LED lights on the sides.  The side control boxes are cast out of resin.  The box is made out of wood and is hollow in the back.

4.
R2-D2 - R2-D2 is custom assembled and painted by me and consists mostly of resin cast pieces that were made by a prop builder.  The body is a cardboard type concrete forming tube surrounded in a styrene shell.  The dome is metal.  The feet are fiberglass.  This piece also has several LEDs.  This piece also has 20 seconds of audio activated by 2 buttons on the side of the body, just below the dome.

5.
Jawa - This custom Jawa was completely scratch built by me.  The body is made of PVC pipe.  The head is Styrofoam wrapped in black duck tape and cloth.  This piece also has two LED eyes activated by a switch and a push activated sound disk on top of his head.  The blaster was custom built by me and the cloak is a canvas like material.  He also comes with a scratch built droid caller.  The Jawa stands at about 39".

6.
Stormtrooper - This Stormtrooper comes with FX armor (vac u-formed plastic / ABS I believe, but not entirely sure).  The mannequin is approx. 5'11 (with armor and boots he is over 6') and has adjustable arms.  The blaster is a converted Hasbro toy blaster.  The gloves are military grade Nomex.

7. -
Yoda - Yoda's body is scratch built out of PVC pipe.  His clothes were custom made by me out of cotton fabric.  His head, hands, feet, and lightsaber are cast in resin and he was completely airbrushed by me.  Yoda stands at about 36" - 39".

8. -
Darth Vader - Darth Vader's body is a standard mannequin, approx. 6'3".  Once costumed he stands approx. 6'6".  Everything he is wearing is Rubies Supreme, except boots which are standard black costume boots.  Chest and belt boxes light up and he has a push button switch in the palm of his right hand which activates breathing sound effect in helmet.  He stands on a custom made base that contains battery operated LEDs that illuminate with a remote control.

9. -
Obi-Wan Kenobi - This is a custom painted Alec Guinness resin cast head mounted on a mannequin.  He stands approximately 5' 10".  The robe, tunic, tabbard, etc are all custom made.  The undershirt is a turtleneck and the belt is genuine leather with a metal buckle.

10. -
Gonk Droid - This is a completely custom built Gonk droid that I made out of storage bins and miscellaneous parts. The feet are a hard plastic material and the legs are a flexible plastic material that have wood supports inside for stability.  He also as 4 working LEDs that are activated with a push button switch.

11. -
Kylo Ren - The mannequin is approximately 6'3", the helmet is officially licensed (Hasbro Black Series).  The tunic and robes are custom made, the gloves are replicas, and there is a hidden sound module near the head that plays phrases from the The Force Awakens.  The boots are costume boots and the pants are cotton.

If I were to ever receive a buyer, they would need to arrange shipping, most likely requiring a custom packing / freighting service.  I will deliver and set up all 11 of these figures for free within 75 miles of zip code 85298.  You could also come and pick these items up yourself free of charge.
