Outside on ankle Velcro and a further zip on ankle to keep them snug.

On the back on the Bottom it has an extra tight weave webbing designed for extra protection if you suddenly to sit down when skiing or you are seated say for fishing.

Knees also have another quilted inside for warmth or protection.

These are a brilliant thought out commodity and not cheap, but do ask any questions before you buy.
