Item for auction is a 19.68g specimen of Moldavite.  Moldavites originated about 14.5 million years ago, after the impact of a large meteorite produced great heat and pressure, which melted the meteorite and surrounding terrestrial rocks and sprayed some of the molten glassy substance above the atmosphere to rain down into the region of south Czech Republic.  Moldavites are are noted for many distinguishing features, such as its green color, glassy shine, strange shapes (discs, spheres, ovals, drops, sticks and cylinders), and surface textures (fine or coarse dimples, craters, ribs, and spines).  Quality of moldavites vary greatly, and are judged by color, clarity, and size.  This specimen is rather large, very clean and fresh, transparent green crystal of remarkable color and clarity.  This is a AAA piece that stands out against the scads of moldavite available as rough, dull, muddy colored duds prevalent on ebay and the internet.
