EMPIRE 208 Turntable, no tonearm, missing Motor Pully Cover, but otherwise complete and original.  Top plate has been modified to accommodate an SME tonearm sliding bedplate (NO TONEARM OR PARTS INCLUDED IN THIS AUCTION, but please do see my other auctions for the SME 3009 S2 Improved tonearm shown in the pictures).

All original, with rubber grommets and platter mat in excellent, supple, and strong condition.  The famous Pabst motor runs smooth and strong, very quiet.  Bearing silent and smooth.  Metal top plate and platter show their age with light dings and scratches.

Base is complete with Empire badge, but a bit rough, showing some heavier scratches and light delamination.  Hard rubber feet.  Could be refurbed, better replaced.

This is a wonderful three-speed turntable with terrific speed stability and drive.  A fantastic platform for any high end tonearm; the SME I had been running (available in another auction) was a great aesthetic and nearly period-appropriate vintage match.  Together they sound wonderful.

Very sad to see this combo leave my house, my first vintage turntable, but with the Micro Seiki DD-40 ruling the living room, and the Lenco L70s lurking in the garage, I'm all set for vinyl spinners.  I will PACK these items with GREAT CARE and respect for the delicacy, masses and forces involved; the buyer will not be disappointed!

U.S. Shipping and Worldwide Shipping available at actual cost.  Internationals MUST INCLUDE INSURANCE, Full Honest Disclosure on Customs Forms, and BUYER ASSUMES ALL RISK for International Shipment.  Sold As-Is, As Described, but I'm a reasonable guy: if there's a problem, I'm sure we can work it out so everybody is happy.  Thank you very much for your interest, and PLEASE check my other auctions!

Cheers,
Ben

Thank you for your interest! Unfortunately I cannot offer free shipping for this item, despite how the auction is set up.  BUYER PAYS ACTUAL SHIPPING COSTS, US and INTERNATIONAL.  The auction listing is set up somehow with 'free shipping' toggled on, and apparently I cannot update that property without cancelling the auction.  Thank you for your understanding.  NO FREE SHIPPING ON THIS ITEM.  Sorry!

However: Check it OUT, I found the arm rest, added a picture, and this will be included to the winning bidder.

Thanks again!
Ben
