Feather boards are a great tool for holding your stock & preventing kickback, but they do have limitations. Now there is an option with no limitations. Introducing JessEm CLEAR-CUT Stock Guides.
The unique guide rollers on the stock guides are mounted on a 5 degree angle effectively steering stock toward the fence. The stock is pulled tightly to the fence & the grip force of the urethane rollers holds it securely in position.
CLEAR-CUT Stock Guides operate on the same principle as a stock feeder in that the stock is guided at a slight angle as it is fed forward. With the stock being guided at a slight angle toward the fence it is critical they not rotate in the outfeed direction, especially if you are cutting a dado or other machining with the board. This would feed the stock incorrectly into the cutter. To prevent this & any kick back, each roller is fitted with a one way needle roller bearing. This ensures each roller spins in the direction of feed...only.
With JessEm Clear-Cut Stock Guides, set up is fast and easy. They are locked in their position along the fence with a single twist of the pivot knob & the height setting is controlled with the tightening of the clamping knob. For long term routing JessEm has broached the clamping knobs to accept a 14" hex key so you can tighten them even more for added security that they won't lose their setting. When not in use they just pivot out of the way.
With CLEAR-CUT STOCK GUIDES there is no need to struggle holding long boards tight to your fence. The guides pull your stock securely into position & there is no need for a second set of feather boards. Just feed your work into the stock guides and they pull your stock into the fence while you hold onto the other end.
You can have complete control of your stock even when routing wide boards or large panels, the dual action of the guides will pull your work tight to the fence. You will achieve faster, safer precise cuts as your work is held in position.
CLEAR-CUT Stock Guides mount to standard 1/4" T-Slot found on most commercially available router table fences. An accessory mounting plate is available for shop made router table fences. The guides have 2 3/4" of total adjustment and maximum stock thickness is from the surface of your table to 9/16" below the center of the mounting T-Slot.
CLEAR-CUT Stock Guides are CNC machined from solid aluminum and anodized for appearance & durability. The adjustment knobs are machined from stainless steel for longevity, the rollers are CNC machined from wear resistant acetol resin which also has a low co-efficient of friction and the traction tires are moulded out of urethane for long life and superior grip of your stock.
