Capture brilliant photographs and video with the exceptionally compact NX500 Mirrorless Digital Camera from Samsung. This camera takes a 28.2-megapixel backside-illuminated APS-C CMOS sensor and pairs it with the DRIMe V Image Signal Processor to creative high resolution images with low noise at sensitivities up to ISO 51200. This combination also enables the recording of 4K video at up to 24 fps or UHD at up to 30 fps with HEVC (H.265) compression for saving space without sacrificing quality. Adding to the unit's versatility is the inclusion of the 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 Power Zoom ED OIS zoom lens.

High-speed shooting at up to 9 fps is possible as well and the NX500 uses the NX Autofocus System III with 205 phase-detect points of which 153 are cross-type for fast, accurate focusing. Composing and viewing images and video is greatly benefited by the inclusion of a 3.0' 1036k-dot AMOLED touchscreen monitor on the rear of the camera. Additionally, this screen can be tilted up to 180 for shooting at a wide variety of angles.

Operability of the NX500 is designed to be simple through the use of two separate command dials on the back and front of the camera as well as a Hybrid UI for intuitive usage. Another feature of this model is Samsung Auto Shot which tracks subjects at 240 fps in order to trigger the shutter at the ideal moment, such as when a baseball player makes contact with a pitch. Additionally, it comes with the ED-SEF8A Flash and has built-in Wi-Fi connectivity with NFC and Bluetooth options.

The camera is compatible with Samsung NX-mount lenses and included in this kit is the Samsung 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 Power Zoom ED OIS lens. Offering a 24.6-77mm-equivalent focal length range, this versatile wide-to-short telephoto utilizes low dispersion and aspherical elements to reduce aberrations throughout the zoom range. Optical image stabilization minimizes the appearance of camera shake and Electro zoom control realizes smooth zooming performance that is especially beneficial to video recording.

NX Autofocus System III

Reviewing and composing critical shots is made easier by the 180 tilt capability of the 3.0' 1036k-dot touchscreen AMOLED monitor. This display enables users to shoot at odd angles while still keeping the image in view. Also, the touchscreen functionality allows for fast review or changing of settings.

Operability

The NX500 incorporates two separate command dials, one on the front and one on the back, that streamline the changing of shooting settings. This is combined with a Hybrid UI for intuitive control over your camera.

Connectivity

Files saved on a memory card within the NX500 can be downloaded off the camera via its USB 2.0 connection. When wirelessly accessing images stored to the camera is preferred, NFC capability allows individual files to be transferred to a smartphone or tablet with one tap. Large groups of images may be transferred using 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth can be used to easily activate the Wi-Fi while allowing a connected phone to constantly feed accurate GPS data to the camera for tagging to photos and videos in real-time.

Auto Shot Mode

Samsung's Auto Shot mode tracks subjects at 240 fps and triggers the shutter at the ideal moment. The NX500 offers 3 different settings for this mode, Baseball, Group Jump, and Trap Shot, which will allow users to more easily capture action in their images.
