Up for sale is a one of a kind Lenovo Thinkpad T60 with a T61 motherboard and a 15" QXGA (2048x1536) IPS LCD screen.  The T61 motherboard was installed to allow for a much faster CPU and more RAM than the T60 series allow.  The motherboard upgrade is not as simple as swapping the motherboard and involves precise modification to the frame and the new motherboard to make the motherboard fit perfectly in a T60 frame.  I chose the integrated graphics motherboard over the version with Nvidia because there are heat-related issues with T61 motherboards with Nvidia GPUs.  This laptop runs cool and the fan hardly ever runs.  The only functionality lost with the motherboard swap is no modem because the modem socket had to be removed.

The QXGA screen is the highest resolution screen for any laptop and is an original IBM part and is an IPS Flexview screen so it has very wide viewing angles along with excellent color reproduction, much better than TN panels.  The LCD panel is new with no scratches or pixel defects.  By combining the the 15" 4:3 T60 suitable for QXGA IPS LCDs with the faster CPU and higher RAM capacity of the T61 I think this is the ultimate Thinkpad (I own one myself).

This laptop is in new condition with no cosmetic flaws or signs of wear anywhere.  Laptop is equipped with the fastest CPU for T61s (Penryn T9500) and has the max memory of 8GB.   For storage there is a new Intel 2nd generation 160GB SSD which is one of the fastest and most reliable Solid State Drive available.  While normal T61 BIOS limits SATA transfer speeds to 1500 Mbps (SATA-I) this laptop's BIOS has been updated to allow for up to 3000 Mbps (SATA-II) transfer speed to take advantage of the latest SSD drives.  Laptop also has been wired for wireless-N which requires 3 antennas and comes with a Lenovo branded Intel 4965AGN Wifi card, a rarity in T61s.  Other items includes a new genuine Lenovo 9-cell battery, a new genuine Lenovo keyboard, and a slim 90W AC adapter which is smaller and lighter than the normal adapter.  Windows 7 Ultimate x64 is loaded and an authentic key along with a copy of the installation DVD is included.  OS was downloaded legally from Microsoft website.  The laptop is guaranteed to perform perfectly upon arrival.  Free FedEx ground shipping with insurance within the continental US.
