Turn back the clock to 1990 WKA 4 Cycle Asphalt Road Racing! Experience the sight, feel and the taste of competing on tracks that required as much driver input as attention to chassis set-up!

This listing is for a totally restored 1990 Coyote Free Roller racing kart with matching kart cover. We purchased this kart from the original owner, who used it for approximately 20 race events. The chassis sat in his garage for the remaining years. It is model no. KIC90, serial no. 1292190.

This chassis was the industry leader, and the technology was way ahead of its time - this is where adjustable castors on a race kart originated: both left and right sides were fully adjustable. The rear frame stiffness could be adjusted by simply rotating the rear stabilizer bar 90 degrees.

Many modern day professional race drivers started their careers in the late 1980s and 1990s with this type of kart, competing on tracks such as Lamar Speedway, Barnesville, GA, Darlington Speedway, SC, 103rd Street Complex, Jacksonville, FL and Chestertown Speedway, MD.

We have professionally restored it to race-ready condition as it would have been raced in 1990. A perfect blend of beauty and brawn, it sports an almost-new look, yet has plenty of power for racing or driving for enjoyment.

The chassis was in very good condition when we purchased it. We have completely disassembled and rebuilt it from the bar frame up. All steering and axle bearings have been replaced. The brake system has been complete disassembled and rebuilt with all new brakes lines, pads, master cylinder and caliper rebuild kits.

The two-piece rear bearing cassettes have been updated to one-piece bearing cassettes. The two-piece engine mount has been replaced and modified for a one-piece 15 degree system.

Steering wheel has been replaced with a more modern 9” Caliba Padded Wheel.

Seat has been replaced along with mounting hardware. Padded seat cover is original to the kart. It was an upgrade option at the time of purchase.

Tires and Wheels have been upgraded. New 6” diameter one-piece wheels replaced the original two-piece rim halves. We’ve installed new Dunlop DCM tires: 4.50” on the front and 6.00” on the rear.

This race engine has been machined and restored from a bare block up and includes a matching pull starter. All internal components are new. We have assembled engine using a billet connecting rod, which was not legal in 1990 but corrects a weak point in these earlier race engines. Engine was set-up with a NON fast ramp WKA stock camshaft 1989 version, Raptor II version piston, and performance machined/prepped rings as per build in that era.

Carburetor has been flow tested and set-up with a machined throttle shaft per WKA specifications and jetted for methanol.

Engines at that time used small clutch drivers and small rear gears with a maximum RPM of 5800 to 5900. Engine chain guard and fuel tank bracing is appropriate for that era.

This engine is built as the rules required for competition in 1990, with the exception of the billet connecting rod.

Kart features a new 13 tooth Noram clutch with red springs, and a 58 tooth rear sprocket, along with a new rear plastic sprocket guard and Regina Race Chain.

We would rate the kart’s appearance at VERY GOOD. Kart does show signs of having been raced. Chips to original paint have been touched up. The chrome and all chassis parts show light scuff and discoloration. We cleaned and polished the entire kart to bring back the new appearance as best we could without compromising the integrity of its original parts. The only previous damage noted would be a welding repair to the front bumper.

Mechanically, this kart is LIKE NEW. We have meticulously restored and modernized in some areas for durability, safety and convenience not available in 1990. We have made a few subtle changes to improve reliability and performance of this race chassis.

This is a race chassis, and the governor has been removed from this engine. Motorsports are dangerous. No warranty or representation is made as to products' ability to protect the user from any injury or death. The user assumes that RISK.
