Stenograph Shorthand Machine Court Reporter Vtg

This listing is for a what appears to be a Vintage Stenograph Shorthand Machine Court Reporter. The stenograph machine itself is functioning and in good shape ( it has some sticky tape on it ,a few small blemishes and some writing).See photos as part of description.As for the hard shelled protective case it's very solid and sturdy but it shows it's age,has wear and tear,blemishes,aging etc. (again,please see pics as description).
I always wondered how these machines worked ,how on TV they said "could you read back what the witness just said ,please" and BAM the reporter did,word for word. Well now I know how they could do that,kinda,lol.Actually I still have no clue,but this thing is cool anyway.
