On April 16, 1992, IBM announced the first limited edition Thinkpad for July of the same year, the IBM 2521 ThinkPad. It was a " slate" tablet. The operation was carried out exclusively by means of a pen and some function keys on the display surface. It was not until 5 October 1992 that it was renamed Thinkpad 700T. On the same day, the Thinkpad 300 and the Thinkpads 700 and 700C appeared. The Thinkpad 700T was sold until April 1993, the Thinkpads 700 and 700C were discontinued in October 1993. The Thinkpad 700 and 700C are based on PS/2 architecture with Microchannel. According to the PSREF data sheets, the Thinkpad 700 and 700C were only available in black housings, but this is not true - the Thinkpad 700 was also available in the "IBM beige". The company's ThinkPad 700 was black, while retail versions were gray-beige for distribution. ThinkPad 700
