For sale! My Brilliant SAAB 9-3 SE Turbo Convertible

Has a history file nearly too thick to fit in the glovebox, with receipts back to when it was new. Previous owner before me had it since 2012, I had bought it as a "forever car" and hence no expense has been spared during my ownership either. The reason I'm selling is because somewhat tragically, my good lady doctor her indoors wife gets immediately car sick when travelling with the roof up, which is fine on lovely sunny days, and believe me it's a pleasure to drive with the roof down, but isn't long-term sustainable and will lead to the car not being used as much as it deserves. As things stand the mileage is currently 99k, the purchaser will get the pleasure of watching her tick over to the landmark 100!

Since I bought it in April this year it had a new updated EGR system and it's sump dropped, cleaned and the oil strainer cleaned (by Phil Smith SAAB specialist in Sheffield - essential for these engines to ensure longevity) a new turbo (by Phil Smith SAAB specialist in Sheffield), 2 oil & filter changes (by Phil Smith SAAB specialist in Sheffield) and a replacement DI Cassette. Also in 2017 it had a new clutch and electric aerial. There is a small gap in the receipt as the previous owner had a mechanic friend who did all his work for him but there is a receipt for the clutch and receipts for everything else before and there is a LOT. Basically lots of invoices and receipts. This car has been superbly looked after since new, and even has a SAAB Service club sticker still in the windscreen, which was a scheme where older SAABs could benefit from main dealer servicing after the first few years of ownership. Convertible roof reproofed this year.

The only things wrong with it to my knowledge are: a scuff on the front bumper where I caught a brick wall. It's not awful but I was very cross with myself (of course!). The passenger side rear window clicks a bit on it's way back up, but it still works ok. The SID information display has no missing pixels, although it does have a weird orange bit which I've never seen before on these. The climate control panel has one to match, but neither affect viewing or performance (see pictures). The carbon effect dash is imperfect as well, I do have a replacement wood dash somewhere but as I'm in the middle of moving house I'm not sure if I can lay my hands on it easily. If I can dig it out I'll include it, although they're only £20 or so on here usually. It also has significantly up-rated (JBL) speakers in the front which improve listening significantly.

Roof in perfect working order.

Air con blows cold.

Cruise control works.

Tidy black leather interior (slight damage to passenger side door card, but again, nothing I'd worry about - just not concourse!).

Full set of proper SAAB carpet mats included.

Engine works well, pulls well, gears and clutch feel right.

At the Buy It Now price I'll include the wind deflector, which is a godsend on the motorway with the roof down. Else, will be available for an extra £50 (which is comfortably less than I paid for it)

I'm gutted to be selling, but it makes sense to do so while a new owner can still enjoy what's left of summer.

Drove to Eastbourne from Sheffield and back last weekend on a tank of fuel surprisingly making 40mpg, which is way better than I'd expected. Less frugal round town of course, but still, a thoroughly pleasant place to be.

** My daughter's Highland cow not included in sale**

Collection with cash from Sheffield. I can meet you at the station if required.

Please send £100 deposit within 24 hours of the auction end via PayPal.

Any questions, please ask BEFORE bidding!

Thank you and good luck!
