1953 Porsche 356 Pre-A Coupe VIN 50693 Engine 40849
Here we have the 356 project you have been waiting for, an early Pre-A Coupe.  We all know these early cars never hit the open market anymore.  This car has already had a lot of work done like new floors and battery box.  The floors are the good ones, made by Simonsen, so they weren't cutting corners on the restoration.  The interior also looks newly re-done in red.  The car was originally Palm Green and some of the original paint remains if you wanted to do a match, see pics.  This coupe was originally a normal with engine 31516 but was up-graded to a much more rare 54 super engine 40849, a type 528 engine.  The builder of this car had a vision with the Super motor, the body bumpers, and don't miss the 1951-era split windshield, none of which would have been original to the car, but boy do they make a statement!  Also included are 5 brand new reproduction 16" wheels to round out the look and since they are brand new no worries about trying to take a corner on wheels that are 60+ years old.  While the restoration has been started there is still more metal work to be done and rust to be tackled, please look closely at the underside pics.  The car is also not 100% complete and only comes with what is pictured, including the parts that are off the car but are pictured.  What you are getting is basically a blank slate Pre-A Coupe that can either be continued down its restoration path with a nod to earlier Pre-A's or be restored to its original state, either path will provide you with a stunning car.  The early cars are the hottest 356s right now with one bringing a million dollars at auction recently.  If you have been searching for an early 356 that has the basics like engine, gearbox, seats, glass, etc, this car could be the one for you.
Don't miss out!
